What to Do If Your Studio Goes out of Business

What to Do If Your Studio Goes out of Business

It is an unfortunate reality that businesses are not always successful. So – what do you do when your favorite studio unexpectedly goes out of business and you’re still holding hundreds of dollars’ worth of unused class credits?

The answer – call your credit card company!

Most credit card providers offer purchase protection for instances just like this. All you need to do is give them a call and explain the situation. With the recent bankruptcy of Arlington-based My Thrive Pilates, my mom was successful recouping the loss of unused classes through Discover and her friend had similar luck with American Express.

If you happened to purchase your classes through an external site like Gilt City or Groupon, reach out to them. I’ve had to do this in the past for restaurant deals and the external site had no issue crediting the amount of my purchase to my account.

Hope this helps!
