Must Have Peloton Accessories

Must Have Peloton Accessories

UPDATE: I made a YouTube video with this information as well - watch here!

I recently purchased my Peloton Bike, taking advantage of the recent price drop. Whether you’ve purchased the Bike, Bike+, or grabbed a used bike, there are a number of accessories I recommend getting together while you wait for your bike to be delivered.

NOTE: Generally, I recommend grabbing all of these accessories from sellers other than Peloton to save some money. HOWEVER, if you haven’t yet ordered your bike you can use code “UMS4F9” to get $100 off any Peloton accessories with your purchase. (We used ours to get a pair of shoes so that they only cost us $25 out of pocket instead of $125!)

Must Have Accessories for Your Peloton:

  • Shoes: I highly recommend grabbing clip in shoes for your bike. See here for tips on how to pick the right shoe for you.

    • Whether you buy shoes from Peloton or not, you’ll need to put on your cleats yourself. Make sure to watch a video before putting them on to make sure you’ve set yourself up for a safe ride.

  • Weights: Instead of grabbing just one pair of weights for your bike, I recommend buying a hand weight set so that you can use the other size weights for Peloton Bootcamp and Strength exercises. This is the one I have and the 3lbs fit on the bike. (Here is the Peloton version and an inexpensive Amazon pair too.)

  • FAN: This is a GAME CHANGER. You will work hard on your bike, and you will get sweaty. Grab a small fan to help you power through those sweaty rides and keep pushing yourself. I grabbed this one that came highly recommended and has worked great.

  • Sweat Towels: Speaking of sweaty, having a few sweat towels is clutch for getting through longer/sweatier rides. Use old hand towels or grab an inexpensive pack.

  • Mat: Depending on where you’ve set up your bike in your home, a mat is a great idea. We have our bike on carpet and the mat keeps our bike stable throughout rides. I grabbed this one that is the same size as the one sold by Peloton.

  • Water Bottle: Use whatever you have but make sure to have water with you! (My S’well bottle with the sport cap has been great and I love this Yeti Peloton bottle as well.)

  • Cleaning Supplies: Just like if you were at the gym, keep your bike in tip top shape and smell free by wiping it down after each ride. Wipe it down with a gentle cleanser or wipes and spray the screen with Windex and a microfiber towel.

  • Screen Pivot: If you have the Bike and want to be able to rotate your screen, without paying an extra $600 for the Bike+, grab the Pivot (use code “SWEATSMARTER for 10% off”). Check out more on the Pivot here!

  • Spin Tray: If you’re like me and working from home, the Spin Tray is an awesome accessory to allow you to listen in to a webinar (or maybe catch up on your favorite Bravo show) while burning some calories. You can grab it on Amazon here or directly from the retailer here for an extra 10% off with the code: SWEATSMATER. I have ended up using it WAY more than I imagined - it’s great!

While You Wait for Your Bike:

While delivery times are exceeding a month to three months for Peloton delivery, you will get free access to Peloton Digital while you wait for your delivery. Use that time to take any of their other classes (I like the Strength and Yoga ones!) and get to know some of the instructors so that you know who you like by the time your bike arrives.

Happy Spinning!
